If We Pick Them, They Will Come

Greetings from the coast of Maine.

For those of you who may have missed our last newsletter (Anne's Daffodils) this is a reminder that on Saturday, May 16th from 10:00 AM - 4:00PM we'll be hosting a fundraiser at The Meadow to benefit the Blue Hill Tree of Life Food Pantry.

Here's what's happening:

My friend Anne lives in Blue Hill and has daffodils in her gardens – lots and lots of daffodils. Her house was my secret garden for several years after she bought her home but hadn't moved here yet. I used to stop by in the spring and pick buckets of them.

We all know that this spring is like no other. What, I wondered, could we do with all those daffodils? It didn't take long to decide that if we picked them and arranged them in jars I've saved over the years, we could sell them in the parking lot at The Meadow and donate all the proceeds to benefit the Blue Hill Tree of Life Food Pantry.

Anne's daffodils should be in full bloom by the end of this week, ready for the picking. So, this Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, please stop by the parking lot of The Meadow of Blue Hill to select a bouquet and make a donation. We are asking for a minimum donation of $10.00, but feel free to give more. Exact change, please!

The store will be closed, but we'll be there wearing masks and observing social distancing. And remember, all proceeds will benefit the Food Pantry.

If you can't come to the Meadow but would like to make a donation, you can send us a check, payable to The Tree of Life, P.O. Box 456, Blue Hill, ME 04614.

We hope to see you (from a distance) on Saturday!

The way to feel good is to do good!
